Green update
/The Green is now closed for the season, and we have undertaken the Autumn treatment with the advice and guidance of Martin . Finishing on Friday morning before the rain arrived, we had spent Wednesday and Thursday carrying out essential tasks. This year, we applied nearly four tons of top dressing, 40 kg of fertilizer pellets, and 20 kg of grass seed. These things, along with scarifying, spiking, solid tining, cutting were just some of the tasks to be completed.
We are very pleased with the results, and it has ensured that we are in the best possible situation to bowl on a great surface next year. Of course, as last year, the regular maintenance tasks over the Winter are essential to achieve this.
None of the above could happen without the contribution of volunteers from the Club. RBC is characterised by people who put themselves forward and not only enjoy what the Club offers them, but contribute to the Club behind the scenes, and ask what they can do for the Club. This is true for so many tasks in the Club, and it allows the Club to continue functioning, but also generates the positive and welcoming atmosphere in the Club.
I would like to extend a big thank you to people in the Working party. I am also very happy to accept new members to the Working party as will enable us to spread the work.
